Artifacts and Ownership

Artifacts are the individual components inside your Power Platform environments.
Impliancy automatically indexes all supported artifact types and assigns responsibility to owners and deputies.

Artifact types

Impliancy indexes:

• Power Apps
• Power Automate Cloud Flows
• Power Automate Desktop Flows
• Copilot Studio Bots
• Power Pages (upcoming)
• Custom Connectors (upcoming)
• (Plus the environments they belong to)

Ownership model

Each artifact has:

• 1 Owner
• 0..N Deputies

Both roles have equal permissions inside Impliancy. See Managing owners and deputies for more details.

Why ownership matters

• Clear accountability
• Compliance form assignment
• Inactivity notifications
• Governance tracking
• Permission management (e.g., sharing apps)

Owner sync

For all artifacts:

• Changing the owner in Impliancy updates the owner on the artifact
• This eliminates the old PowerShell-only process

Deputies

Changing the deputies in Impliancy adds them as Co-Owners on the artifacts

Deputies can:

• Submit compliance forms
• Manage additional deputies/owners
• Receive inactivity notifications
• Perform the same governance tasks as owners
