Uninstalling Impliancy

Uninstalling Impliancy consists of removing the enterprise application from Azure and cleaning up service principal entries in each Power Platform environment. The process is similar to removing any other Azure registered web application.

Step 1: Remove the Enterprise Application from Azure

  1. Sign in to the Azure portal.
  2. Navigate to:
Azure Active Directory → Enterprise applications
  3. Search for:
    Impliancy
  4. Select the application.
  5. Click Properties.
  6. Click Delete.

After this:

  • User sign in is removed
  • Token issuance stops
  • The application is no longer accessible

This removes Impliancy as an enterprise application from your tenant, but some environment specific records still remain.

Step 2: Remove the "App Impliancy" service principal from each Dataverse environment

Even after uninstalling the enterprise application, Dataverse keeps an application user (service principal) per environment that Impliancy used for inventory and admin operations.

To fully clean up Impliancy from your tenant:

  1. Open the Power Platform Admin Center.
  2. Go to Environments.
  3. Select an environment.
  4. Open Settings.
  5. Navigate to:
Users + permissions → Application users.
  6. Locate the application user:
    App Impliancy.
  7. Deactivate it.
  8. Delete it.
  9. Repeat these steps for each environment where Impliancy was active.

This ensures that:

  • No background processes related to Impliancy remain
  • No service principal permissions or roles are left behind
  • All environments are clean from Impliancy specific identities

What happens to your data?

Removing Impliancy will:

  • Remove all user access to the Impliancy app
  • Stop all inventory, inactivity, and compliance processes
  • Remove Azure authentication and token issuance for Impliancy
  • Remove the "App Impliancy" service principal from each environment (after step 2)

Impliancy does not delete:

  • Power Platform artifacts (Apps, Flows, Bots, Desktop Flows)
  • Dataverse tables or business data
  • Any data inside your own Azure or Power Platform resources

Impliancy only removes governance metadata and identities associated with the app.

Summary

To fully uninstall Impliancy:

  1. Delete the Impliancy enterprise application in Azure AD.
  2. In every relevant environment, deactivate and delete the App Impliancy application user in the Power Platform Admin Center.

After these steps, your tenant is fully cleaned of all Impliancy components.
