Notifications and emails

Impliancy uses in-app notifications and email alerts to keep owners, deputies, and admins informed about important governance events.


Types of notifications

1. Compliance notifications

Triggered when:

  • A compliance form is required
  • A form is close to expiration
  • A form has expired
  • A form was auto-approved
  • A form was manually approved
  • A form was rejected

Sent to:

  • Owner
  • Deputies

Delivery:

  • In-app notification
  • Email

2. Inactivity notifications

Triggered when an artifact exceeds the configured inactivity threshold.

Sent to:

  • Owner
  • Deputies

Includes:

  • Artifact name
  • Days since last activity
  • Environment
  • Next steps

If auto deletion is configured, the notification includes a warning.


3. Ownership notifications

Triggered when:

  • Ownership changes
  • A deputy is added
  • A deputy is removed

Sent to relevant parties.


4. Admin notifications

Admins may receive:

  • Environment permission warnings
  • Inventory errors
  • Failed sync attempts
  • Compliance rule misconfigurations

Notification delivery channels

In-app notifications

Displayed in the Dashboard’s "Notifications" panel.
Admins and owners see only notifications relevant to them or their tenant.

Emails

Sent for:

  • Compliance reminders
  • Compliance approvals/rejections
  • Compliance expiration
  • Inactivity alerts
  • Ownership changes

Emails always contain a direct link to the relevant artifact.


Notification frequency

Notifications are sent:

  • Immediately when triggered
  • Once per event (no repeated spam)
  • Renewal reminders follow a structured schedule (e.g., 7 days before expiration)
